Hello and welcome to the first blog post on our new dedicated VITA candidate page. Until recently we have been running with a very business focussed web site but thought it was about time that we did something for you, our candidates! If you are a business owner reading this post, feel free to read on, but if you want to find out more about how VITA can place candidates with you to fill job vacancies in your company, please do visit our other website. This will just be a short blog post to introduce you to our new page and let you know what to expect from future posts.
Until now, the web presence of VITA has been very much aimed towards businesses trying to recruit candidates. We felt that this was the right thing to do as we wanted to have a number of great vacancies for you to apply for! Due to the COVID-19 crisis though, we have seen a significant slowdown in companies who are willing to take on new recruits, coupled with a number of companies who are being forced to downsize or close their doors entirely. The marketplace has shifted from having a shortage of candidates to having a shortage of open vacancies. This has resulted in a large number of you sending in your CVs and covering letters, which we are always grateful to receive. While your ideal vacancy is being found for you though, we thought we’d put out some more material to benefit you, the candidate.
This blog will host a number of different articles centred around your life as a candidate looking for a new role, whether you be out of work due to the COVID-19 crisis, a new entrant to the German jobs market, or someone just looking for a different role; there will be something for you all here. Members of the VITA team will write posts about some of the pitfalls we have seen that can trip you up in your journey as a candidate, giving advice on such matters as CVs and interview strategies. We will also have features about the various online learning platforms that there are, and the courses contained within. As a data scientist myself, I will complete these courses then review them for you, so that you can make the decision whether or not to spend your hard earned money on them! We will also feature guest writers in our blog that will write about various interesting topics in the field of IT so that you can upskill yourself before your next interview. If you would like to write one of these features for our blog, please do get in touch!
The blog will be present on both our German webpage and the English one, in that way you can choose to read it in the language you feel more comfortable with, or if you are like me and learning German, you can test your German skills by reading the German translations after finishing the English posts! If you have any comments on the blog posts, please visit our LinkedIn page or contact us by email – email@example.com
I look forward to accompanying you on your candidate journey!
